Pilot Income Protection | Benefits Overview


You have access to a number of policies to provide you with peace of mind during your flying career. Lumley Insurance Limited is working with leading insurers who have designed policies that reflect the needs of the specialist pilot community and we are pleased to offer these to you on an entirely voluntary basis.

Pilot income protection Pilot Income Protection
Pays a pre agreed monthly benefit after a pre agreed waiting period should you be unable to carry out your normal occupation as a pilot due to injury or illness. The status of your licence is not taken into consideration and the total benefits received, including any employer paid benefits and/or benefits paid under any other policy paying a monthly benefit must not exceed 85% of your net average monthly salary. Benefits are paid for a maximum of 60 months (5 years) or until you return to work, or reach the maximum age of 65, whichever the sooner.

Loss of Licence Loss of Licence (Lump Sum)
Pays a pre agreed lump sum benefit in the event that your licence is permanently revoked due to ill health or accident. Cover is available up to a maximum of £ 200,000 or 3 x salary, whichever the lower.

Personal Accident Personal Accident
Pays a pre agreed lump sum, following an accident, should you (or your spouse if cover has been extended) suffer from one of the conditions noted in the policy - Death, Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of both eyes, Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one eye, Loss of two limbs, Loss of one limb, Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one eye and loss of one limb, Permanent Total Disablement (other than total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one or both eyes or loss of limb(s).
