As a member of the Independent Pilots Association, you have access to a number of unique and discounted policies to provide you with peace of mind during your flying career. Lumley Insurance Limited has worked with leading insurers and designed policies that reflect the needs of the specialist pilot community and we are pleased to offer these to you on an entirely voluntary basis.

Pilot income protection Pilot Income Protection
Pays a pre agreed monthly benefit after a pre agreed waiting period should you be unable to carry out your normal occupation as a pilot due to injury or illness. The status of your licence is not taken into consideration and the total benefits received, including any employer paid benefits must not exceed 85% of your average monthly salary. Cover would cease at the age of 60 or you return to work, which whichever the sooner.


Pilot income protection Loss of Licence (Lump Sum)
Pays a pre agreed lump sum benefit in the event that your licence is permanently revoked or insurers are satisfied that due to ill health or accident, you will not regain your medical certificate within 5 years of the disability. Cover is available up to a maximum of £ 200,000 and the premium will depend on your age as this policy is age rated.


Pilot income protection Personal Accident
Pays a pre agreed lump sum should you (or your wife if cover has been extended) suffer from one of the conditions noted in the policy - Death, Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of both eyes, Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one eye, Loss of two limbs, Loss of one limb, Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one eye and loss of one limb, Permanent Total Disablement (other than total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one or both eyes or loss of limb(s).


Pilot income protection Legal Expenses
Provides legal assistance up to £ 125,000 for legal disputes directly connected with your activity as a professional pilot such as Statutory Authority Representation, Government Authority Representation, Legal Defence and Personal Injury (terms and conditions apply, see full policy wording for details.)
